Louis Foster heads to the happy hunting ground of Road America in Wisconsin this weekend as he gets back to the road course action he knows so well.

Road America is one of the longest tracks on the calendar and its much more reminiscent of the tracks in Foster’s native England, and he finished second there in 2024 on the way to his Indy NXT by Firestone championship win.

“Road America is a great circuit, one of the best road courses in North America, so we’re looking forward to getting going,” says Foster, who is backed by Copart, a global leader in online auto auctions.
“I won my first race at Road America back in 2022 in the Indy Pro 2000 championship with Exclusive Autosport, so that’s a nice memory, but of course we’re fully focused forward on making this weekend a success with the #45 Droplight RLL Honda.
“The last time we were at a road course was Indy where we qualified third and just missed out on a top 10. Road America is a different track so not everything translates, but we’ve been working so hard as a team to prepare and I’m really looking forward to the weekend.
“I want to add a warm welcome to Droplight, a new sponsor on my car for the rest of the season. A big thanks to Mi-Jack - which remains with us - for the support so far.”

Foster has continued to impress in his first NTT IndyCar Series season but there have been some challenges in recent weeks. A brilliant 12th in his maiden Indianapolis 500 was followed up by suspension failure while fighting for a top 10 in Detroit, and then a crash while contending for the top 10 again at Gateway last weekend meant his weekend ended on a sour note.

The 21-year-old from Odiham in Hampshire remains upbeat though after the weekend in general.

“I got a bit of a wiggle, I had wiggles all race there, but just got a bit too high onto the dark stuff (on the track, where there’s less grip), and I was a complete passenger.
“At that point I bent my toe-link and I couldn’t stop the car from spinning. Pretty scary crash for myself and Josef [Newgarden], glad he’s OK.
“Really annoying because we were fast, we were really, really fast. Such a shame it had to end that way. marbles caught me out.”

He added: Of course that's not how we wanted the weekend to end, but I think we had a good chance of a top 10 on a difficult oval, so we can take some encouragement looking to the ovals coming up."
