The NTT IndyCar Series’ top rookie Louis Foster kicks off the final month of his first season in Portland this weekend.

Foster, driver of the #45 Droplight Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda, leads the rookie of the year standings with a month-long period still to go that will include three races.
Portland is the final road course on the schedule this year, a place where Foster has won two out of the three races he’s been a part of in his career so far.
“The story of our season has been qualifying well, so the next step is turning those starting positions into better results at the end of the weekend,” says Foster, who is backed by Copart, a global leader in online auto auctions.
“As a team, we’ve been working really hard. It’s been a gruelling schedule so I’m glad the crew got a little bit of time off with no race last weekend, but there’s very little time to let up in this schedule as it’s over so quickly.
“Portland is the last of the kind of typical road courses that I’m used to. Obviously the goal is to qualify well as we have been doing and trying to avoid any drama at Turn 1 on lap one because that’s probably the biggest time and place your race can go wrong here.
“The whole Rahal Letterman Lanigan team, all the drivers, mechanics, engineers and everybody, have been working so hard to capitalise on the pace we’ve had and to get better, myself included. Everyone is putting the work in.
“I’m looking forward to getting going in Portland.”
Some of Foster’s best results have come on road courses this season, including a phenomenal breakthrough pole position at Road America earlier this year.
However, Foster won his first ever oval race in America and was victorious on all of the ovals in the Indy NXT by Firestone championship on his way to the title this year, so the last two races on the ovals are also ones Foster is looking forward to.
