Foster’s pace impressive in IndyCar debut

Louis Foster impressed during his NTT IndyCar Series debut for Rahal Letterman Lanigan, even if the result wasn’t the desired outcome.

At the St Petersburg season opener, Foster was taken out by another driver’s incident on the first lap of the race.

He had finished a very impressive 12th in the final practice before the race, and had qualified 16th out of 27 cars after missing out on graduating from his group by just 0.143s.

“Overall, I think we can be happy with our performance this weekend,” said Foster, who is backed by Copart, a global leader in online auto auctions.
“We didn’t get to show what we can do in the race. But we can’t affect things outside of our control.
“Coming in to any racing series, you want to win, but we also have to be realistic and qualifying as the top rookie first time out is something to be pleased about.
“The team worked really hard to get to where we are and it’s going to get better the more weekends we work together.
“I want to thank the team, my supporters, sponsors and everybody who has helped me to reach my first IndyCar race. We’re not content yet, but I think we can be pleased with our first performance.”

Foster has a three week break before his next IndyCar Series entry at the Thermal Club in California.
